A LITTLE BIT HISTORY ABOUT VALPARISO


From its begginning the history of Valparaiso is different because in 1536 the captain Juan de Saavedra didn't found this city, be only dicovers is; who admired by its beatuty be denominate it “Valparaíso” in Memory of his homeland.
Sir Pedro de Valdivia Founded Santiago in1541 and it degnadted Valparaíso like the official port of the capita city ok the Kingdom of Chile (Santiago) Spetember 13, 1544

However it was only the arrival place for ships coming from Perú, and a lot of years passed before being inahabilited by spaniard. Alogn the year 1559 it began to be delineated a skerch of the city, leaving a church built in teh current location of the church La Matriz.

The rush gold fieber in California made Valparaíso a strategic port for the ships coming from Europe and Asia that went to the north of America to make fortune. From 1860, Englismen, German, French, Italian and North American they settled in the city building beautiful construcction and being devoted to manage the import trade, incorporing big capitals in teh mining saltpeter depostit.
The financial, and comercial insdustrial, development were at the band of the venturesome inhabitants of Valparaíso burgeoisie that made that city the economic capital of Chile up to 1910. For this reason, Valparaíso was pioneer in many things, for example, In Valparaíso was seltted the first phone line, the first strong lines of the country were built, the first city in having Trolley bus, telegraph, ilumination public to gas and electricity, pipe gas, elevator, firemen, Navy, Floating dike, banks, stock exchange, etc.
