 | Completely rebuilt in 2007, this cute hostal in the middle of town is simply a great value! Special attention was paid to the beds, linens, and showers - things we care about when we travel. We also have a wide range of prices, from low budget to Suites - something for everyone ! | | KB Tambo has a small, peaceful gardenand a rooftop deck and bar with killer views of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Our on-site restaurant, Puka Rumy, enjoys an outstanding reputation on the traveler circuit. And we specialize in adventure tours in the local area and Machu Picchu. | | KB Tambo has a great vibe, where like-minded people from all over the world hang out. | For well informed travelers in the know, "Ollanta" is the place to be. Situated much lower than Cusco and in a much less stressful and 'touristy' environment, visitors always comment on the towns energy (small but positive) and its' wonderful people not to mention the loads of ruins within walking distance of the hotel ! | | Directions | We are on the main street in Ollantaytambo. If you are arriving from Cusco, pass through the main plaza when you enter the town and continue straight, (downhill and towards the ruins). We are 20 meters past the Plaza, on the right hand side. If you are arriving by train from Machu Picchu, simply walk or mototaxi up the only road from the train station, 1km into town. We have paid special attention to the things we find most important in a hotel room - mattresses, linens, and hot showers. You will find all three to be of top quality. If you have traveled around Peru on a low to mid range budget, you will know what we are talking about ! Our hot water is by gas, not the scary electric kind.
Our location is absolutely perfect, in the center of town with views of the ruins from the rooftop deck, and great people watching from the main street restaurant below.
People often comment that they are very surprised by the quality we offer for the price we charge. Hopefully, that says it all about KB Tambo Hostal.

| To offer the best value, we have 4 types of rooms: Backpacker, Garden View, Standard, and our Suites. | | Our Backpacker rooms all are clean and have new, private baths but no showers of any kind. Our Standard rooms have quality beds and linens and private, brand new bathrooms and showers with hot water 24/7. They are interior rooms with some natural light but no views or windows. | | Our Garden View rooms have private bath with 24/7 hot water and quality beds & linens. They also per the name have views of our small but delightful garden. | | Our Suites are our best rooms, all private baths brand new built with tons of sunlight and with the finest beds, linens, and decor. Most have views of the ruins. |
